Much like my previously uploaded pic, I added a brown, crinkled, paper texture for the background. I dunno why, I just really like it. With Syd's colors it just works well.

Not a very exciting pic... I just wanted to draw my character Sydney standing plainly and looking like his usual, smiley, dopey self. He's quite the cheerful and lovable fellow... well, he is to me at least. Yep.

Comments are appreciated as always. Thanks.

Tools: Sketched and inked (with micron pens) on cardstock . Scanned in and then colored in Photoshop. Textures are from here- [link]

ha, very cool, that background does work well. And he has your usual clean lines and coloring, lots of detail too! ^.^
His expression is particularly enjoyable in this pic.

The details...OOooooooo the details. That's what drags my eyes all around the place in this image! And then, you get to his face and BAM! His expression and smile just sort of capture the viewer, at least to me!

I think you balanced out flat colors + textures so incredibly well here. It just really suits his character design so well, I hope you do it again sometime too! I'll say one thing - That belt buckle and all his jewelry make me super envious. I want them =<!
